THE LARGEST ELECTORATE.
EXPANSE OF CENTRAL OTAGO. Compared with the compactness of any city electorate that of Central Otago offers a graphic illustration of the “great open spaces. It is possibly one of the largest electorates in point of view of size in the Dominion, reaching as it does from Milford Sound on the west to Lee Stream on the east, and from the Pigroot on the north down to 'Heriot and Kingston in the south. In Mr. Ritchie’s tour of the eleci tor ate he delivered approximately .90 addresses —on some occasions as many as four in one day —and he travelled more than 2000 miles by car, motor launch and horse. Practically the only portion of the electorate which was not visited by Mr. Ritchie in his tour was that of Milford Sound.
