HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
THURSDAY NEXT. There is every prospect of the Horticultural Society’s Show on Thursday being a huge success. The warm weather now experienced, is causing the flowers to bloom and mature rapidly. The variety of classes in the schedule will make this year’s show one of the most interesting and attractive held for some time. In the cut bloom section there are over fifty classes for exhibitors to compete in and finally a class for any other variety. The vegetable section has also about twenty classes and a class for any other variety, so there is every opportunity for the siflallest gardener to exhibit either flowers or vegetables and to assist in making the show successful. The cottage gardens will bo judged to-day and the result announced on Thursday evening by -the president, Mr. Christie. The judge in this section is Mr. Evans of Evans and Sawyer, nurserymen, Manakau. Entries for the general section close on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Mr. J. S. rooms, Ross’s buildings, Main Street. Mr. J. Linklater, M.P., will officially open the show at 2.30 p.m.
