THE PORK SUBSIDY.
MR, SMALL’S OFFER ACCEPTED. (To the Editor). Sir,—At last night’s United Party meeting held in the Royal Theatre, Foxton, Mr. P. J. Small said he had not heard of anyone getting any of the pork subsidy and if there was a farmer in the room who had received such subsidy he would take him along to a jeweller’s shop and present him with a gold medal. Well, Sir, as a local farmer and one who has received pork subsidies from the Government, I now claim that gold medal from Mr, Small and will submit the proofs of subsidies received from the Government to him or any other person he appoints. Now, Mr. Small, what about it? Yours etc., A. K. SPEIRS, Foxton. P.E. —The subsidy form may be inspected at the “Herald” Office, Foxton, by anyone so desiring.
