FINANCE jpfcxtEFOßM’S Good Record. Australian Finance Minister’s Tribute Dr. Earle Page, Australian Commonwealth Minister of Finance, speaking in the House of Representatives, Canberra, said: * “If the credit of Australia were as good as that of New Zealand and it were possible to convert all the Commonwealth debts, Australia should be able to save 3s per cent, per annum in interest, which would mean an annual saving of £1,300,000 in interest alone on existing debts.” Could any better testimony be given of the sound financial standing of this country under the Reform s Administration ? ANOTHER STRIKING TRIBUTE : Another striking tribute is paid to the Reform Party’s financial administration by the leading financial journal of the world, the “Financial News, of London, which declares that “ There is no Dominion who has been more scrupulously careful over her finances than New Zealand.” The London financiers, who lend money only after full and careful inquiry into the financial position of the various countries of the world, are willing to lend money to New Zealand at a better rate of interest than to any other British Dominion. Whose opinion would you take, that of the high is.. nancial authority quoted, or the opinion of opponents of jfcfri- ’.form, who for party political purposes see fit to decry pri j finances of this country?
