Those seeking the answer to the riddle will find' it in Mr. Harris’ reference to one of his opponents, Mr. Tv. H. Greville. “I read Mr. Greville’s speech, and the one delivered iby another United Party candidate, on the same evening,” said Mr. Harris. “The two speeches were almost identical. They read like a gramophone record. I think the United Party must have a speech factory somewhere.” Mr. t. sbddon and labour. The United candidate for Westland, Mr. T. E. Y. Seddon, in a speech last week, repeated that he would continue to vote against any no confidence motion moved by the Labour Leader, Mr. H. E. Holland, and that he would not sit on the Treasury benches with any party whiclr depended on the support of Labour. When he criticised the Reform Party, he said, it was not in a captious spirit or a carping manner, but as one who felt that that party supported a great deal that he stood for.
