WRONG SIDE OF ROAD

Dannevirke, Yesterday. James Hurrea, a travelling salesman, was charged before the Magistrate, Mr. J. Miller, with having driven a motor car negligently. The accused, on July 29th, on a perfectly straight road between Norsewood and Takapau, ran into a can travelling in the opposite direction. It was alleged that he was on the wrong side of the road. The Magistrate said there was no reason at all for the accident. The case had been proved to the hilt. The defendant was a menace to the public, and he would be fined £2O and have his license cancelled for one year. The defendant had previously, at Gisborne, been fined £25 for a breach of the Motor Regulations.
