GIRL’S BODY FOUND IN SCRUB.
Auckland, October 6. The dead body of Elsie Walker, aged 18 years, was found face downwards among some scrub at Panmure. There were no external marks of violence. Deceased was wearing a youth’s overcoat. She was a daughter of Mr. D. Rcnzy Walker, of Raukeku, near Opotiki. For some time past she had been employed by Mr. Frank Bayley of Papamoa, near Te Puke, Mr. Bayley being an uncle of the deceased. It is thought that deceased on Monday last took Mr. Bayley’s motor car and drove away. The car was found abandoned at Papatoetoe on Monday evening.
