LENGTH OF SESSION.
GENERAL ELECTION DATE. Every endeavour is now being made to transact the remaining business of the session by the end of next week .(says the Post), but as there is still a vast amount of work to do it is doubtful whether this programme can be carried out if it is intended to put through every Government measure that appears on the Order Paper, in addition to those that have yet to be brought down. . Members are getting anxious now in view of the fact that their opponents are getting busy in the constituencies and many of them are hoping that the eitd of the session will come soon. No date has yet been definitely fixed for the General Election, although it is expected that it will be held about 14th or 15th November. If the session runs well, into October, however, the election may be deferred until the third week in that month.
