FATAL COLLISION.

MOTOR-CYCLIST COLLIDES

WITH CAR. Palmerston N., Sept. 22. Bernard Spellman, aged 28, residing at Allen Street, Palmerston North, died in hospital last night when under an anaesthetic following injuries received in a motor collision. Deceased was .returning to Palmerston on his motor-cycle about 7.30 last night on the Pohan-gina-Ashhurst road and when at Raumai he collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction and sustained a fracture of the thigh. He was brought into hospital with all speed, but died during an operation at about 8.30 p.m.
