SOUTHERN CROSS FLIERS.
VISIT ROTORUA. Rotorua, Sept. 20. The Tasman aviators arrived at 4.30 and were accorded an enthusiastic reception by the borough and public, at the Government Bathhouse. The Mayor, Mr. J. N. McLean, welcomed the visitors, whose responses to the speeches were recorded by loud-speaker to a great crowd. The evening was spent at the baths at the Government Bathhouse with a Maori entertainment and a visit to the Orphans’ Club. In the intervals they will visit the local sights and leave for Wtairakei in the late morning. The flag of Queensland was flown over the Grand Hotel, where they were staying, in honour of the Australians. Seldom has such a spontaneous and hearty welcome been given to any visitors, crowds filling the streets to a late hour to catch a glimpse of the flyers. VISIT TO DUNEDIN. Dunedin, Sept. 20. The trans-Tasman airmen are expected to pay a brief visit ■to Dunedin next Tuesday. Arrangements have been made for the three Bristol machines to land at Wingatui, where the racecourse stands and lawns will be thrown open to the general public. Included in the round of entertainments will be a civic reception and a luncheon and a programme of sight-seeing. The airmen will depart for the north again on Wednesday. AT WANGANUI TO-MORROW. Squadron - Leader Kingsford Smith and his companions will arrive at Wanganui at 4 pan. tomorrow and depart on Monday The kinema films of the Southern Cross landing and the scenes at Christchurch, being shown at Sydney, are causing' favourable comment. The Press describes the photography as excellent. It includes fine aerial views of Christchurch.
