Step right up to the Town Hall to-night and see “Circus Rookies,” with all the elephants, tigers ’n everything! And who do you think is with us this season? Karl Dane and George K. Arthur, the comical pair who made the whole world rock in “Rookies.” And what a whirlwind of thrills and laughs they create when they are chased by an escaped gorilla over the tops of a speeding circus train, when Arthur gets mixed up in a knife-throwing act, and when both try to win the hand of a dainty trapeze artiste. Louise Lorraine is the dainty leading lady, and Edward ' Sedgwick, of “Slide, Kelly, Slide,” directed—so roll up! Roll up! Roll up. Also “Blow by Blow” (Comedy), News and N.Z. Scenes. Prices 1/- and 2/-. Children half price. A rollicking romantic comedy of New Yorks’ east side —of Irish and Jewish rivalry, “The Shamrock and the Rose,” will head Monday’s programme at usual prices. ROYAL. * A light to a finish for the heritage of their fathers is the theme of Buck Jones’ latest vehicle for Fox Films, “Black Jack,”' at the Royal theatre to-night, with Barbara Bennett in the leading feminine role. &Tt is a fight of great odds for the boy, the girl and a friend for their rightful inheritance, a rich .treasure of hurried gold, against one of the most powerful outlaw gangs of the west. 'The plot revolves around three pieces of a dolla'r, which three old prospectors left to their heirs, each fraction of the coin having a part of the key to the precious ore. It is a tremendous battle for the three friends to fight the gang and outwit them and claim what is rightfully their own. Buck plays the role of the young hero, Phil Dolan, a hard riding de-vil-may-care fellow who swears to get his own at whatever cost. Through all of his hair-raising escapes, however, he never loses his sense of humor and proves to be not only a very straight shooting cowboy, but a very lovable chap as well. With “Wild Puppies” (Comedy), Scenic and News. Prices 9d and 1/6. Children 3d and 6d. The Tunnev-Heenev fight should prove a great attraction to all sports when it is screened at the Roval shortly.
