CORRUPT PRACTICE BY JOCKEY AND TRAINER. On Saturday, the judical committee of the Wanganui Jockey Club concluded its inquiry into the running of Valkon in the Marangai Handicap on the first day of the meeting. After hearing the evidence of A. E. Cox, of Te Aroha, trainer, E. A. Keesing, jockey, and W. Harper, father of P. G. Harper, the owner, who was not present on the first day, the committee decided that the horse was not run on its merits and that Cox and Keesing had been guilty of corrupt practice. Both were accordingly disqualified for twelve months. The owner, P. G. Harper, was exonerated from any complicity in the matter.
