BOWLING.
The annual meeting of the Manawatu Bowling Centre was held at Palmerston North on Monday, presided over by Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P. The balance-sheet disclosed that the Centre’s finances were'in a very satisfactory position. It u r as reported that the profit on the New Year tournoment was £9 and at the Easter tournament, £7l. Mr. J. A. .Nash, M.P., was reelected president. Regarding the question of the official testing of bowls for Dominion tournaments, Mr. Nash pointed out that the Manawatu Centre had ■repeatedly protested against the present unsatisfactory position. On his motion, it was resolved to demand that the Dominion Bowling Centre supply the Manawatu Centre with proper testing equipment and an official stamp and that Maim watu be constituted on official testing centre. The secretary was also authorised to; commuicate with Mr. Smart, of New' Plymouth, with regard to the method of bowd testing in operation there. It wrns resolved that copies of the report and balance-sheet be printed and sent to the various clubs a fortnight before the date of the annual meeting.
