The matron thanks the following for gifts during the month of August: —Mr. Kelleher, apples; Mrs. Walls, cakes and scones; Mr. Hart, free cartage; Dorset and Riches, meat; Mrs. Stiers, home-made scones; Mrs. F. Robinson, vegetables, dripping, jam, and flowers; C. M. Ross, dress materials; Mr. Walter Barber, load of wood; Masonic Lodge, sandwiches and pastry; Mrs Good, eggs and cake; Miss Jordan, cake; Mr. Owtram, Palmerston N., cases of apples; Madge, Palmerston N. free conveyance; Mrs. Turton Ihakara, butter and cream; Mrs. West, Palmerston N., eggs and jam; Mrs. Cordery, Palmerston N., sweets and jam; Mrs. Worboys, Palmerston N., eggs and apples; Mrs. Adamson, Palmerston N., Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Campbell, holiday to three girls. The matron would like visitors to know that she is V“at home” to all interested in the children os any day and at any time. No official time. Come and see us in harness, especially ladies welcome on Thursday (mending day). We have 26 children and the mending almost gets beyond us.
