THEFT FROM LETTER.

At the Palmerston North Police Court yesterday, Andrew’ Anderson was sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment for the theft of four i letters, and one month’s imprisonment for obtaining at Bulls goods and money by false representation. .The sentences are to be concurrent. The police stated that while going through Sanson, the accused robbed a private letter-box. From a letter he obtained a cheque, which lie presented at Bulls to a storekeeper, representing himself as the person to whom the cheque w r as payable.
