MISSING SOLICITOR.
* PETITION IN BANKRUPTCY LODGED. Christchurch, August 24. A petition to declare J. B. Batchelor, a solicitor, a bankrupt was lodged in the Supreme Court yesterday. An earlier message stated that a warrant has been issued for Batchelor’s arrest. He has been, missing since August 7, and it is alleged that the amount of trust moneys not accounted for is in the vicinity of £IO,OOO.
