A CHILD’S EDUCATION.
WHEN DOES IT COMMENCE? Dr. P. Fennelly, a visiting psychologist, had been advising his audience at the Concert Chamber, Wellington, not to force the child, or attempt to impose on it the ideals or dogmas of the adult experienced in the ways and wiles of the big world, when one woman sent up the question: “At what age would you commence the education of a child?” In reply, the psychologist said that the education of a child began before it was born, and he warned parents that pre-natal education was just as important as post-natal education; but without knowing the child, its parents, and its environment, he was not prepared to say when its scholastic (nreer should commence.
