FIRE IN MOTOR GARAGE.

The local Fire Brigade received a call on Saturday afternoon to an outbreak of fire in a private garage owned by Mr. Aler. Ross, in Purcell St. The garajge boused a Veljalimousine car which had been used by Mr. Ross during the morning and there had been some trouble with the ignition. An attempt was made to get the ear out prior to the arrival of the brigade when it was found to be blazing from the hood. The toil portion of the car was practically destroyed and the shed damaged by the flames. The garage and tools were insured in the Atlas for £4O. The policy on the car valued at from £SOO to £6OO had lapsed. The cause of the outbreak was possibly due to a fusing of the wires in the hood.
