THE ELECTION ISSUE.

REFORM v. LABOUR. Wanganui August 20. What was tantamount to an invitation to the United Party to join the Government forces was extended by the Prime Minister in an address here to-night.. “The contest this year will be between the Reform Party and the Labour Party and its principles,” said Mr. Coates. “There is only room for the two parties —there is no room for the intermediate party. The best thing for the United Party to do is to join up with us, who are just as progressive and liberal as they are.”
