BOXING.
CARROLL BEATS CASEY ON POINTS. Christchurch, Yesterday. Jack Carroll (10.4), welter champion of Australia, beat Harry Casey (10.fi), middleweight champion of New Zealand on points in a 15round contest to-night. Carroll kept Casey out with long straight lefts without much weight behind them. Casey tried to force the pace, hitting wildly with both hands but never with effect. He depended chiefly on hooks and swings. It was not a good exhibition.
