STOWAWAY GETS GAOL.
Auckland, August 3. Thomas Henry Barry, aged 37 years, who last week stowed away on the steamer Kaiwarra, which had to return to port to land him, appeared in the Police Court j:or sentence before Mr. McKean, S.M. lie was sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment. He pleaded guilty to a further charge of, on November 12 last, obtaining £l2 at Arapuni by means of a valueless cheque. On this charge he was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment.
