Foxton and Miranui juniors meet at Miranui on Saturday and a good game should result. Broad will replace Stevenson and Findlay will again don the jersey in place of Hornblow, who is on the sick list. The following will represent the Foxton seniors to play Weraroa at Weraroa on Saturday:— E. Robinson, C. Procter (captain), T. Fuller, Moses, A. Thompson, K. Hirini, J. Huff, L. Andrews, S. Anderson, H. McGregor, W. Pine, C. Renata, and Royal. The ’bus will leave town at 1.30 p.m. sharp. The Foxton Club has three of its players in the Manawhenua senior representatives viz., Taylor, Westwood and Stevenson. “Boy” Stevenson is probably the youngest player in the combined reps., having attained his 19th birthday in February last. His promotion from the junior grade to senior and representative status in one season is something of a record. Anyhow his promotion is well-merited and while his junior team-mates will be handicapped in their final games without his services, they are proud of his inclusion among the classic players, and hope that he will yet wear the fern leaf.
Taylor is well up to provincial form this season, and Westwood has played consistent football throughout the season.
