DEATH OF HOSPITAL NURSE.
BOARD’S INQUIRY. Christchurch, July 31. The North Canterbury Hospital Board’s inquiry into the death at the Christchurch Hospital of Nurse Helen Jones, and into the general treatment of nurses when they reported sick, concluded to-day with the following resolution, against which Mesdames E. R. CcCombs and T. Green votes: “That the board expresses regret that Nurse Jones lost her life in such a sad and unexpected manner, but it finds upon inquiry that everything possible Avas done for her by the medical officers and the matron.” The same two members and also the Rev. Clyde Carr voted against the folloAving resolution: “That the board is convinced that sympathetic treatment is given to any nurses who report sick.” The board carried the following motion unanimously: “That the hospital committee be asked to consider the advisability of appointing a doctor to examine all nurses periodically and prescribe for them in case of sickness.
