Miss Elsie Coley is visiting her sister, Mrs. C. Barker, of Waharoa.

The friends of Mr. R. Hornblow will be pleased to learn that he is making' steady progress from a severe attack of influenza. The engagement is announced of Mavis Janet, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Wleatherston, of Dunedin, to James, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Coley, of Foxton. Among the sufferers from influenza in Palmerston is Mrs. Elizabeth Crosse, of Broad Street, who celebrated her 98th birthday last week. Though confined to her bed at present, her general health is good and she fully expects to enjoy the hundredth anniversary of her natal day.
