THIRTY MILES AN HOUR.
NOT CONSIDERED EXCESSIVE. Auckland, July 2G. “In my opinion it is not dangerous for a motorist to travel at 30 miles an hour, but the new motor regulations state it is,” said Mr. W. R. M'Kean, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court when a defendant denied a charge of speeding along Parnell road past the Blind Institute.
“I have had to convict many people for travelling at this pace, and I suppose I will have to continue to do so in view of the regulations,” added the Magistrate. The practice was to allow speeds up to thirty miles an hour, and it would have continued to be the practice had it not been for the motor regulations.
