LUPIN IN MANAWATU

Referring to the Pohangilia County Council’s decision to rescind the resolution declaring lupin a noxious weed in certain portions of the county, the Hon. Edward Newman, M.L.C., writes: “I would respectfully suggest that the example shown by the Poll angina Council might well be followed by the Manawatu County Council, and thus remove settlers in that country from the unsatisfactory position that they now occupy in regard to lupin. I have always been of opinion that the Noxious Weeds Act should be altered, so that it can be brought into effect in certain ridings of a county without taking in the county, and I hope to he of some service in assisting Mr. Eliott and others to bring this about before long.”
