A GREAT COMEDY.

“THE MAN FROM TORONTO.” • TOWN HALL TO-NIGHT. Residents of Foxton and district are finally reminded of the presentation of_the comedy “The Mqn from Toronto,” by Palmerston North’s Heading amateurs at the Town Hall to-night.

No effort has been spared by the members of the Society to make their initial appearance before a Foxton audience a memorable one. Special rehearsals have been held and a first-class performance is assured. It is the intention of the Society to present their future productions in Foxton should patronage accorded their first appearance*' be sufficiently encouraging.

“The Alan from Toronto” cannot fail to please and amuse the most critical audience. It abounds in humorous situations and sparkles with fun throughout the whole three acts.

The plot centres on the conditions of the will of a millionaire which provides that the estate shall go to - a nephew, Fergus Wimbush, who is a rancher in Canada, on condition that lie marries Leila Calthorpe, a fascinating widow. The nephew comes to England to investigate the possibilities, but is no match for the widow iwho decides to do some investigating on her own account, and for this purpose disguises herself as a parlourmaid. The plot lends itself so admirably to clever comedy that there is not a dull moment in'the play. It. is expected that tlieffe will be a big demand for seats, and those intending to be present are urged to book their seats. The box plan is in the hands of Mr. Heath, Main Street.
