BOXING.

At Bulls last night J. Barber (Moutoa) met Hepburn (Palmerston North), in the middleweight event. The contestants were very unevenly matched, Hepburn having to his credit four years ring experience, as against Jack Barber, the local exponent, with barely a fortnight’s training. Barber stood his ground gamely, and fought pluekily throughout. Jack has the material and can take severe punishment without flinching, and if placed in the hands of an able instructor would develop into a first-class boxer.
