The annual meeting of the Presbyterian Church will be held on July 30 th.
A “working bee” will be held on the bowling green next Wednesday afternoon.
Commissioner Dredge visited Foxton to-day to inspect the Boy Scouts, and to pass those wishing to go for badges. Six boys satisfied him for the signallers badge. He intends paying another visit in about two weeks time when he will further examine the boys. Mr. A. Stanley Warwick, who is the producer of the comedy “The Man from Toronto” to be submitted to a Foxton audience on Thursday next by the Palmerston amateurs, was the first Registrar of the State Conservatorium of Music in New .South Wales and was associated in that connection with Mr. Henri Verbrugghen.
It is the intension of the Palmerston Amateur Dramatic Society to include Foxton with their productions provided local patronage justifies the experiment. Their productions attract bumper houses in Palmerston, and there is no reason why similar patronage should not be extended them here. Those taking part are wellknown amateurs whose histrionic talents are on a plane with leading professional artists. Their initial production in Foxton on Thursday c-vening next is the 3-aet comedy “The Man from Toronto,” and the producer is Mr. A: Stanley Warwick, whose reputation extends throughout the Dominion. It is hoped that Foxton will show its appreciation of the Palmerston Society’s innovation with a bumper house.
