BANK RATE REDUCED.
The vastly-improved banking and trading position in the Dominion is emphasised by the official announcement of the chairman of the Associated Banks that, as from yesterday, the minimum overdraft rate will be reduced from 7 per cent, to (ijr per cent., and that the rates of interest paid on fixed deposits will be as under:— On deposits lodged for any period between three and twelve months, 3,j per cent, per annum; on deposits lodged for any period between twelve and twenty-four months, 4 per cent, per annum; on deposits lodged for twenty-four months, 4f per cent. .
