Representatives of the Herrington Golf Club journeyed to Shannon on Saturday to indulge in an inter-Club game. Eoxton players although defeated spent a very enjoyable time on the links. The Elthani Argus stales that Air. W. J. Poison will be the selected candidate for Stratford in the in I crests of the United Political Party. Air. Masters has intimated that lie will not stand, and the present member, Air. E. AValter, is not seeking re-election.
A sequel to a raid on a gaming house in Victoria Street, Auckland, on Saturday night was the appearance in Court yesterday of twenty Dalmatians. Moreno Glava was fined £SO for keeping a common gaming house and Joe Jerkovich £sl) for assisting. The others were fined £4 apiece.
