vUSTIN BANNER COMPETITION
The second game of the above competition was played at the racecourse this morning when Eoxton primary school played Levin. A well contested game resulted in the local boys winning by 14 points to nil. At half time the score, was 3 —nil. Thompson scoring a tine try under the posts. In the second half, the local backs got going and Bert Coley crossed twice, Kura converting one. The other try came from a line-out in Levin’s twenty-five, Kura securing and falling across the line. The .Foxlon backs were working like clockwork, their passing being a treat to watch.
Mr. 11. Walls was referee. At the conclusion of the game both teams were entertained to morning tea by Std. VI girls in charge of Mrs. Stanley. Mr. McDonald (Levin), in thanking Foxton for their hospitality congratulated the team on their win and the fine spirit in which the game was played. Levin had been beaten but they were not downhearted, and hoped to turn the table on Foxton in the second round. •Mr. Mason, in replying, quoted the Foxton High School team who had been defeated I‘or two years by Levin, but had managed to win their last match. He reminded the boys that two rep. matches would he played this season. Both teams then gave three hearty cheers for the girls.
