DEATH SENTENCE COMMUTED.
NORGROVE LIFE SPARED. The Executive Council, the Go-vcriior-General presiding, decided after an hour’s deliberation, to commute the death sentence passed cn Alan George Norgrove to imprisonment- for life. OPPOSED BY RELATIVES. Auckland, June 4. Relatives of the late Ernestina Mary Norgrove (the murdered woman) waited on the Prime Minister to-day to represent the opposition lo the decision arrived at on Saturday by the Executive Council to sentence Alan George Norgrove to imprisonment for life.
