Miss Barron, ol‘ Dunedin, is visiting her brother Mr. D. Rk Barron of Foxton.

Mrs J. Riches and family leave Shannon for Foxton to-day, where they will reside in the future .

The death is reported of William Greenslade, aged 80 years, a pioneer of Greymouth. Mr Anderson, formerly engineer lo the Horowhenua County Council, has accepted a position as roading engineer in Christchurch. The improvement in the condition of Sir Charles Skerrett (Chief Justice) has been so well maintained that it has been decided to discontinue the issue of daily bulletins.

The death took place at Auckland on May 23rd of Mr Thomas Westwood, at one time a wellknown Foxton business man and ex-Councillor. Mr J. Westwood, of Foxton, is a brother of deceased, who leaves a widow and one son to mourn their loss. Mr. and Mrs. J. Bett have returned from a holiday visit to Auckland. Mr. Bett went on to the Bay of Islands and spent an enjoyable time at the famous bigfishing ground. Mr. and Mrs. Bett returned home via the caves and Wanganui river. On Thursday evening members of the local Tennis Club held a surprise party at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Hay, prior to their departure for Palmerston N. An enjoyable evening was spent at cards and dancing. During the evening Mrs. Hay was presented with a fruit dish from the Glut) and regret was expressed at their departure from Foxton. The death occurred at Wellington on Tuesday of Mr. John William Kinniburgh, aged 80 years, one of the oldest residents of Wellington. Mr. Kinniburgh’s parents came to Wellington in the ship George Fife in 1842, and he was born in Cuba Street on February 10, 1848. He leaves a widow, two sons —Messrs John Herbert Kinniburgh and Percy James Kinniburgh, of Wellington —and a daughter —Mrs. Rogers, of Auckland. He had a number of sisters, most of whom survive him, and all of whom arc well known to old Wellington residents. They are Mesdames Elizabeth Brown, Helen HI afford, Carman, W. Widdop, €. E. Macintosh, Winters (Auckland), C. Murray (Greytown), and Charles Hill. Mr. James Kinniburgh, lirst Mayor of Avondale, is a surviving brother.
