PERSONAL.
Mr. Freeman, of the Evening Post literary staff, was a visitor to Foxton to-day. The Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Health, will officially open the maternity home at the Palmerston Hospital on Monday afternoon. Mrs. L. Bullard, of Foxton, is at present spending a holiday with Mrs. and Captain Buckley, of Wanganui.
The medical bulletin issued last night as to the condition of Sir Charles Skcrrett f( Chief Justice) recorded a slight improvement.
The death occurred at New Plymouth yesterday of James Rutherford, father of Sir Ernest Rutherford, at the age of 89 years. We are' pleased to report that the condition of Mr. A. Smith, who recently underwent a serious operation in the Palmerston North Hospital, shows a slight improvement.
