The ease in which James Joseph Mallei’, farmer, of Mangaroa, claimed £ISOO from Leslie Johnson, advertising agent, of Upper Hutt, for slander, was continued in the Supreme Court at Wellington .yesterday before Mr. Justice Ostler. The jury retired at 12.50, and returned in half an hour with a verdict for plaintiff for £3OO damages. Judgment was entered for this amount with costs according to scale, and witnesses’ expenses and disbursements, including solicitor’s fees of £0 Gs for the second day.
