Mrs. A. Ross arrived back in Foxton last evening.
Mrs. J. and j\iiss Robinson and Mrs. E. M. Wfyllie are at present on a holiday visit to Auckland.
Two Japanese warships will steam into Auckland Harbour on July 31. On board one of them will he Prince Tokamatsu, 'SubLieut, and younger brother of the Emperor of Japan. The friends of Mr. A. Smith, of Longhorn, will regret to learn that, he is an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital where he recently underwent a serious operation. His condition is causing his relatives grave anxiety.
We regret to record the death of Grace (“Jimmy”), the nine-year-old daughter of Mr.'and Mrs. E. Cl. Martin, which took place at her parents’ residenjee, Union Street, yesterday, after an illness extending over a period of three weeks. The cause of death was a rc-cur-rence of rheumatic fever. The deceased was a bright little child, beloved by all with whom she came in contact, and the parents and family will have the sympathy of the public in their bereavement.
