MANAWATU HERD TESTING ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of members of the Manawatu Herd Testing Association was held in'Foxton last Saturday, presided over by the Chairman (Mr W. H. Gimblett). There was good attendance of members present.
Members were of the opinion that a calf marking scheme should be adopted, the standard to be the same as the federated associations, a resolution to this effect will be sent to the annual meeting. Satisfaction and confidence in the associations was expressed. As soon as the new bridge is completed over the Manawatu river, its activities will be extended to Shannon. The branding of cull cows was discussed at length. What actually is a cull cow has not yet been defined. Compliments were paid to members of the executive for giving their time in connection with this important work.
