CONSIDERING ABOLITION OF BOROUGH. Otaki, Last Night. Questions appertaining to the rating system of the Borough of Otaki, to the advisability of abolishing the Borough, and to the form of government that could be substituted, are to be considered by a commission which was set up to inquire into, and report on, these matters, and which commenced sitting to-day. Mr. Brooks, Valuer-General, gave an [historical Resume offthef developments in the status of Otaki in recent years, while Dr. Shore gave an outline of the failure of the sewerage system. The commission is likely to last for from ten to twelve days.
