THE HIMATANGI ROAD.

“Can’t you newspaper people do something to stir up the County Council to improve the disgraceful condition of the Himatangi road,” said a well-known settler to our representative this ; morning. He went on to say that he had never known the road to be in such a bad condition. “The other day while passing along I saw heaps of metal on the roadside and later on I noticed it being spread with a road grader. I don’t know what is happening to the County, but things want looking into.” Our representative stated that attention had been called to the state of the road time and again, but without any result. The complainant is a large ratepayer residing within the County and also pays a large sum in petrol and truck taxes.
