A FATAL COLLISION.
YOUNG LADY KILLED.
As a result of a collision between a motor-bicycle and three pedestrians in Adelaide Road, Wellington, on Sunday night, Miss E. Phillips, of 273 Hanson Street, ' was killed almost instantly. About 11 p.m. a motor-cyclist, W. Payntei - , was returning to town along Adelaide Road from Island 'Bay collided with three young women who were walking on the side of the road. Both Paynter and Mss Phillips were thrown to the ground, and both the pedestrians were knocked over. Miss Phillips and Paynter were rushed to the Hospital in the motor ambulance, but on arrival there the former was found to be dead. Paynter was suffering from abrasions and shock. The other two young women who knocked down, did not suffer sewcrc knocked down did not suffei severe injury, and were able to proceed to their home in a motor-car..
