_ ON THEFT CHARGE

Auckland, "April 20. Police to-day arrested John Henry Victor Mansill, a solicitor, aged 30, at whose meeting of creditors yesterday allegations were made regarding misappropriation of trust moneys. Later he wds charged in the Magistrate’s Court with stealing £5lO, the property of Norman Alexander Whyte, insurance inspector. Chief-Detective Hammond asked for a remand until next Thursday. Mr. Geisen, for the accused, said it was well known accused had filed a petition in bankruptcy, and had handed over what assets he had. It was not known what bail could be obtained, but it was suggested the amount fixed should be as low as possible.
