WEDDING.

EDLIN —WOODROOFE. A wedding of local interest was celebrated in All Saints’ Church on Thursday, April sth., the contracting parties were Walter, fourth son of Mr and Mrs W. Edlin, of Weraroa, and Ileene Lorria, only daughter of Mr and Mrs G. T. Woodroofe, of Foxton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. H. Walton. The bride was given away by her father and was charmingly attired in a frock of ivory crepe de chene, with satin bands, embroidered veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of roses, heath and smyiix. The bridesmaid was Miss Gertie Edlin (sister of the bridegroom) attired in malmaison crepe de ehene and carried a bouquet of autumn tints and maidenhair fern. Two little flower girls, Misses Jean Stevenson (attired in creme erepo de chene and carrying a posey of roses and autumn leaves) and Joan Robinson (attired in mauve shot taffeta and carrying a posey of pink begonias) completed a charming setting to the bridal group. Mr Arnold Stevenson officiated as best man.

- The bride’s present to the bridegroom was ii pocket wallet. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a string of pearls and to the bridesmaid a marble clock arid silver serviette rings to the flower girls. After the ceremony about 100 guests were entertained by the bride’s parents at breakfast in the Town Hall supper-room, when the usual toasts' were honoured and felicitous speeches made. The wedding cake was made by the bride’s mother and the catering arrangements were carried out by Mrs Wlalls. The bride’s going-away dress was a frock of delphinium repp., relieved with malmaison crepe de chene with shoes, stockings and hat to match.

The presents were numerous and included several substantial cheques. •'
