GIRL GUIDES
SPORTS AT LEVIN. Held at Levin on Tuesday, the first combined gathering of the Girl Guide companies of the Horowhcnua district was .an outstandnig success. Four companies were engaged in the contests and displays, the units being the Ist Levin, Ist Otaki Maori, and Ist and 2nd Foxton. The programme opened with swimming events at the municipal baths, while in the afternoon there were field events and displays on the Domain. At the conclusion of - the events the prizes were distributed by Mrs T. Hobson, president of the Horowhenua Association. The silver cup donated by Mrs Hobson for the company gaining the most points for other than swimming events, was won by the Levin company, to '■whom Foxton were rusners-up.
