FAREWELL TO REV. PERYMAN.
On Wednesday evening last the friends of the Rev. Peryman met at the Shannon Methodist Church to bid farewell to Mr Peryman, who is retiring from the ministry and going to reside at Johnsonville. The evening was spent in musical items, Mrs Riches, Miss S. Quarrie, Miss D. Tremewan and Miss V. Quarrie providing the items. Mr J. F. Riches acted as chairman, and in making the presentation referred to the good work Mi and Mrs Peryman had performed in the district. He asked Mr Peryman to accept a travelling rug as a remembrance of his Shannon friends. Mr F. H .Taylor, on behalf of other residents, Mr A. H. Hill, on behalf of the church trustees, and Mrs H. Barber on behalf of the Ladies’ Guild, all spoke, in similar vein.
