PERSONAL.

Mr and Mrs J. K. Hornblow left Foxton for Nelson last Tuesday. Mrs A. E. Scott, accompanied by her two children, left on Tuesday for Taradale, Hawke’s Bay, on a holiday visit to her sister. Mr D. S. Smith, of the legal firm of Messrs Morrison, Smith and Morrison, Wellington, has been offered and accepted the vacant Supreme Court Judgeship.

Mr and Mrs J. M. Barr leave Foxton on Sunday for Auckland, en route for Great Britain, where they will spend an extended holiday. They expect to return to New Zealand about December next. After a fairly lengthy illness the death occurred in Palmerston N. on Tuesday of Mrs Margaret Jane Macpherson, relict of the late Mr David Macprerson. Deceased was born in Londonderry 71 years ago, and cvaine to New Zealand with her parents as a girl of 21. Mi 1 A. Macpherson, of Foxton, is a son of deceased.
