RUNAWAY HUSBAND DISAPPEARS.

Auckland, March 27. Basil Stanley, whose runaway marriage formed the subject of newspaper articles yesterday, has disappeared. He was to have been taken back to Hawaii by the Aorangi, but when the vessel sailed no trace of him could be found though a search was made abroad. His “lady friend” was on the Aorangi when the ship sailed, but she gave no explanation of Stanley’s disappearance. Stanley was seen in Queen Street to-day, but the police are taking no action. The duty of the Customs Department is to report to the Minister of Internal Affairs that Stanley is here without a passport.
