FARMERS AND DAYLIGHT SAVING. ANOTHER PROTEST. Invercargill, Last Night. At a largely attended combined meeting of the Southland provincial executive and women’s division of the Farmers’ Union on Saturday strong opposition to the further application of the principles of daylight saving was expressed and the following resolution was carried: — ’ “This meeting of the Farmers’ Union considers that the Summer Time Act as passed at the last session of Parliament and given a fair trial for the summer of 1927-28 is detrimental to the prosperity of the country and asks that it be, not a - - gain placed on the Statute book.”
