HEENEY DEFEATS DELANEY.
IN ELIMINATION CONTEST. At Madison Square Garden, New York, yesterday in the second round of the elimination series, Tom Heeney, the New Zealand heavyweight champion, beat Jack Delaney, the French-Canadian, and light-weight champion of the world, on points in a 15-round bout. Heeney’s weight was 1981 b. and Delaney’s 17811 b. Heeney won seven rounds and Delaney four and four were even. The contest was witnessed by eighteen thousand spectators.
