Auckland, February 21.

“Bring your husband; we are Detectives Hunt and Walsh wanting to search your house,” demanded two tall men, who stood on the doorstep of Harry Smith’s home in Stratford Street at 1 o’clock this morning. 'Mrs. Smith called her husband, who quickly made up his mind that they were not detectives at aill, and had them arrested. Harry White, aged 25, was fined £lO, and Eric Malcolm Biel, aged 33, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for a breach of his probation. They pleaded guilty to assuming the designation of a police officer. Biel, who was out of prison on license, admitted assaulting Smith. * ________
